I really don't understand the prejudice against your simple, four-stroke push-along lawnmower. Sure, I'm hardly going to use it to clear the paddocks. But for the back yard and the orchard, I really don't need a big, expensive ride-on job. And it would take a hell of a ride-on to handle the remaining thirty or so acres that need to be slashed regularly, so I've got a small but enthusiastic tractor for that job.

Help? Foam air filter for garden equipment question.?

Hello, I have an old Craftsman tractor and a old Craftsman leaf blower/vac and the foam air filters are no good and they are falling apart. I don't think small engine places would sell these type of air filters because this equipment is from the 70's and 80's. I would like to know if It would damage the engines(let dust and debris inside the engine) if I were to buy foam from a craft store and size the foam thickness/shape and make my own filter? Does the foam have to be a certain thickness or thinness? Any suggestions? Please help? Sorry for the dumb questions. Thank you.
