Questions to ask day care provider?
We are needing to use a stay at home mom for day care for our infant son because of our changing schedules/ long hours. What are some questions we should ask the providers? Obviously they know how to care for children since the ones we are considering have young kids at home. Looking for things we may not have thought about to ask.
I would ask to see if she is a certified child care provider. If she has a criminal records check. If she has taking First Aid and CPR. I would go and look around and talk with the lady about the meals, play time, outside activities. I would also ask about what does she do about Doctor's appointments for her child or herself. Does she have someone to step in when she needs to be out of the home to care for the child or is this something that will be left up to you to take off work. I run and in home and I have my mother and my sister trained in the CPR and First Aid area just in case I have to attend a doctor's appointment or if my daughter has a doctor's appointment so that my parent's don't have to find alternative care. How long will she give you in advance if she is going to be going on vacation? Good luck!! I hope this helps!!!
