Have you ever thought that hit sensation R&B/ pop singer , Usher can have a problem relating to his audience? Well in 2004 that thought would’ve never cross your mind, in that year he was the hit maker. He had hit albums, hit singles and of course as any musical talent he decided to join the acting scene (for better or for worst). Well 2004 was about six years ago and now in 2010, Usher is having difficult selling albums and charting singles in the top ten.
Usher has been a chart topping artist since his first LP in 1994, he has made classic albums such as 8701 and of course his classic Confession album. This album alone made music history, some say to be on the same level as Michael Jackson in his prime. At this time period the only top male performers with mass appeal was Justin Timberlake and Usher.
Well in 2010 Usher is ready to make his comeback. He did put out an album two years ago titled “Here I Stand”, which included the club hit ” Love in this Club”, which was a number one single on the billboard. But beside that the album didn’t reach the same blessings as his previous album Confession. The marketing techniques weren’t focus on his music but his crazy personal drama regarding his wife. Even his TV appearances were not up to par. His stage presences was lost. In one performances he looked overly tired, not the Usher who would sing and dance circles around anyone on a TV performance. Audiences were probably confused by his new adult format of the album, and the fact that he was a married man with children now. He wasn’t the young bachelor who can take any woman heart within a second.
But in 2010, Usher decided to take the same approach as his Confession album and discuss his personal life, titled in the new LP Raymond vs. Raymond. В This album is to chronicle his life dealing with the recent divorce from his wife and trying to be the hit maker he once was on the chart. In all aspect this sounds like this was a great chance for him to make a comeback. In the music scene, Chris Brown was out the game due to his personal issues so it looked like the throne was ready to be taking back by Usher.
