I have a 2001 Tiburon and want to put under drive pulley's?

Is it true they wear out your engine quick or is it good to put these pulleys? If i really do put the pulleys how does it help me performance wise? Like more horsepower, better take off or what will it help me in?
It will not blow up your engine... stupidest thing i've ever heard.
It will give you better acceleration, and take-off will improve as well.
